Safe & Sound + Rest & Restore Protocols

In addition to psychotherapy, I offer two sound-based, nervous-system-focused programs through Unyte: the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and the Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP). Grounded in polyvagal theory, these gentle interventions support regulation, resilience, and healing from trauma and chronic stress. They can be offered as a stand-alone service or as a complement to ongoing therapy.

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the SSP is a listening intervention designed to support nervous system regulation. Using specially filtered music that stimulates the vagus nerve, SSP helps shift the system out of fight, flight, or freeze states and into a place of greater calm, safety, and connection.

This protocol is especially helpful for individuals experiencing:

  • Chronic stress or emotional overwhelm

  • Anxiety, trauma, or PTSD

  • Sensory sensitivities

  • Difficulty with emotional regulation or feeling “stuck” in therapy

The Rest and Restore Protocol (SSP)

Rest & Restore builds on the foundation of SSP by deepening the body’s capacity to rest, regulate, and integrate. This gentle protocol uses soothing soundscapes to help engage the parasympathetic nervous system—supporting rest, recovery, and emotional ease.
